Volunteer Opportunities Owasco Area needs YOU!
Contact: Ute Sack

Scout Groups offer fun, challenging programs for boys & girls aged 5 - 17 and young adults to age 26 in the communities of Ajax, Pickering, Claremont, Greenwood and Uxbridge, Ontario. Go to the Parents menu for details on our programs.

Scouting is a sure cure for "Nature Deficit Disorder"!

Scouts are more likely to demonstrate greater self-confidence and optimism about what the future holds. They express a strong sense of civic responsibility and have a desire to “pay back” the community. They become more physically fit, energetic, outgoing, conscientious and compassionate.
And they have a lot of fun!
JOIN SCOUTING NOW!
Scouting makes a difference in the lives of children, youth and young adults by providing opportunities for youth to grow, achieve new "firsts" and develop into citizens of the world.

Become a Volunteer with your local Scout Group
Scout Groups cannot exist without the dedicated volunteer leaders who oversee the Scouting sections.  Many adult and youth volunteers are needed for each Group to run efficiently and share the responsibilities and enjoyment of being "Scouters".  Safe Scouting protocol requires "two-deep" leadership where one leader is never alone with the Scouting youth.

Have you ever thought you might like to be a leader? It's extremely fun and rewarding! Read all about it in Five Reasons and More to Join Scouting.   Parents of Scouting youth and community members are invited to apply to become a Scouting volunteer.   High school students looking for community service hours are welcome to apply.
Not involved in Scouting yet?  Please find your local Scout Group using the Owasco Area Map and/or Scouts Canada Group Locator.
